To design a tool that would give cancer patients information about pain management and provide them with the language and information necessary to discuss pain management with their doctor. |
| Project Summary |
Two out of three people with cancer suffer from pain. There are a variety of medical and non medical cancer pain treatments available with different effectiveness, treatment burdens and side effect profiles.
Through an educational grant from Janssen-Cilag Ltd, IES developed a step by step process that gathered basic lifestyle information from patients to produce a printout which they could use in discussions with their doctor. This included a pain map and information about current and comparative medications. |
